Choose a mastering style
Balanced is the neutral default. Warm fills out the low end and softens the top, Bright opens the air, Loud pushes level for clubs and streaming, Vintage rolls off the highs for analogue character, and Voice brings the lead forward.
Set the output format
MP3 for a quick reference on the way home, WAV or FLAC when the file is going to a distributor, a plant or an archive. The format is chosen before the pass runs, so nothing gets transcoded twice.
